Crane Exam Prep is published by Devtech, LLC, an Ohio limited liability company ("Devtech," "we," "us"). The short version: we collect the minimum needed to run your account and sync your study progress, we don't run ads, we do not sell your personal information and never have, we don't share it for marketing, and we don't track you across other companies' apps or websites.

What we collect and why

Account information. Your email address and a securely hashed password (or, if you sign in with Google, the email Google shares with us). Used to create and secure your account. Handled by Supabase, our backend provider.
Study progress. Lesson completions, flash-card mastery, practice-test history, streaks, points, study-plan answers, and any certifications you track in the certification wallet. Stored with your account so your progress follows you between devices.
Purchase records. Payment is processed entirely by the store or processor you bought through — Apple's App Store, Google Play, or Stripe on the web. Card numbers never reach us. We receive and keep a record of the purchase (store, transaction reference, amount, and the access period it grants) so the app knows what you own. Purchase validation for the mobile apps is handled by RevenueCat as our service provider.
Device session. A random identifier for your signed-in device, used only to enforce our one-active-device account policy. We do not collect advertising identifiers.
Support messages and question reports. If you contact support or report a question, we keep the message so we can respond and improve the content.

That's the complete list. We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, browsing history, or anything else from your device.

What we don't do

No advertising and no ad networks. No sale or rental of personal information to anyone, for any purpose. No sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. No tracking across other companies' apps or websites, and no use of your data for third-party advertising or data-broker purposes.

Who processes data for us

We share data only with service providers who process it on our behalf, under contract, solely to provide their service to us: Supabase (database and authentication, servers in the United States), RevenueCat (mobile purchase validation), Stripe (web payment processing), and Apple / Google (billing for purchases made in their stores, under their own privacy policies). We may also disclose information if required by law, or as part of a business transfer such as a merger or acquisition (in which case this policy continues to apply to it).

How long we keep it

Your data is kept while your account exists. When you delete your account, all of it is deleted immediately and permanently (see below). Purchase records may be retained where required for tax, accounting, or legal obligations.

Deleting your account and your rights

You can permanently delete your account and all data tied to it at any time, from inside the app: Settings → Account → Delete account. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. You can also request deletion — or a copy of your data, or a correction — by emailing info@devtechapplications.com from the address on your account; we complete verified requests within 30 days. We honor these rights for everyone regardless of where you live, including rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) and similar state laws. Because we do not sell or share personal information, there is nothing to opt out of. We do not discriminate against anyone for exercising privacy rights.

Security

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (TLS) and stored with access controls; passwords are hashed, never stored in plain text. No system is perfectly secure, but we limit what we collect so there's less to protect.

Children

Crane Exam Prep is a professional certification study tool intended for working adults. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll delete it.

International users

The app is operated from the United States and data is stored on servers in the United States. If you use it from elsewhere, you consent to your information being processed in the U.S.
